I only finished two books this month, which is pretty low for me, even for a short month like February. I will blame it on the fact that A Game of Thrones took me forever to read and was the size of three normal-sized books. I don’t really have much to say about what I’ve read this month. I liked one book and hated the other, so I guess it splits down the middle in terms of enjoyment.
Blogging has been going really well… I have kept up with my reviews and have posted a few personal updates and memes this month to round out the content. I’m not really thrilled with the interaction from Top Ten Tuesday any more, but they are fun to write, so I will continue with them here and there. (Am I the only one who remembers a time when TTT would make your hits explode and people would actually blog hop and have interesting comments and lists instead of the same thing over and over again?)
Books Read:
The Drake Equation by Heather Walsh (I finished this one late on January 31st, but I’d already written my January Roundup at that point, so it wasn’t on there)
The Sundial by Shirley Jackson
A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin (rant review to come)
In the Works: I’m in the middle of Somebody to Love by Kristan Higgins, a super cute romance novel. I needed something fluffy and moderately well-written after finishing A Game of Thrones and this has been hitting the spot. I have been in an audiobook slump for almost a month now and I haven’t really felt the desire to pick the habit back up. I’ve been through this a couple times before, so I am sure I will eventually.
Aside from reading and blogging, my baby girl is turning one next month! (I know, how did that happen so quickly?) I may post something about what I’ve learned in a year of parenting if I get around to it. This week heralded the return of baseball games, so I have begun spending my TV time watching Spring Training games. I’ve also started thinking about plans for a summer vacation for my family, dreaming of a time when it is warm and sunny…
How was your February? What’s new in your reading/blogging life?
Happy 1st birthday to your daughter! Time really does fly, doesn’t it? A family vacation sounds nice. Hope it gets warmer for you soon.
I can imagine that Game of Thrones does take a while to read! Good idea to follow it up with a romance.
Yay for baseball and Happy March!
