April was my best reading month in ages. Read some fun books and some books that left me with a lot to think about and reread an all-time favorite. I’ve actually read a few YA books recently and that has been a nice change of pace. I forgot how fast I can tear through a great YA book!
Blogging-wise, I got caught up on reviews at one point, but now I am back behind. I am short on motivation to write posts lately and short on time to read and comment on others’ blogs. Work has been busy, which is nice, but takes away most of my time/energy to blog. (Not to mention the full-time job that is toddler-wrangling.) Anyways, we’ll see… I’ve been posting pretty regularly this year and I’d love to keep it up!
Books Read:
Nowhere But Home by Liza Palmer
Where She Went by Gayle Forman
Faking It by Cora Carmack
I’d Tell You I Love You, But Then I’d Have to Kill You by Ally Carter
Ask the Passengers by A.S. King
Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Sáenz
Unsticky by Sarra Manning
In the Works: I’m in the middle of Noggin right now and am pretty sure I will like it a lot. I have The Girl of Fire and Thorns checked out on my Kindle and I will probably try that next. I read one page of it and was a little skeptical that it was my kind of book (first person present tense is just so jarring), so we’ll see. I am trying to get back to audiobooks. I tried audiobook-ing at work since I had been listening to a lot of podcasts… and well, it hasn’t gone so well. I zone out way too much for me to feel like I’m actually reading.
How was your April? What’s new in your reading/blogging life?
I’m so excited that you’re going to read The Girl of Fire and Thorns! I love that series so much. Be patient with the first book. I know it took a while for me to fully get “into” it and it ended up being one of my favorite series.
I hope your May is another great reading month!
I am starting Fire and Thorns at lunch today… I will try to remember it picks up. It takes me a while to get into first person present tense. I don’t know why, but that has started to become a pet peeve of mine…
Hooray for Girl of Fire and Thorns!!!! It’s one of my favorite series and the books only get better as you get into it! Glad you had such a good reading month! 🙂
It makes me nervous to see so much love for Fire and Thorns. What if I hate it? Eep!
Well then we just can’t be friends anymore.
Only kidding… 🙂
OMG, Candice, you have to be my friend. We are book blogging Zetas for life! 😉
Obviously!!! Yay Zeta! 🙂
