March 2012 Roundup

I’m running a little behind on putting this up, but here’s a rundown of what I was up to reading- and blogging-wise in March.

Books Read (with links to my reviews):

Candor by Pam Bachorz

In Too Deep by Amanda Grace

Rot & Ruin by Jonathan Maberry

Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare

Partials by Dan Wells

Anne of Green Gables by L.M Montgomery

The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

Interesting Tidbit: I wrote a series of posts about the dystopia genre in the lead up to the Hunger Games movie– why I think it’s so popular, how awesome it is to see strong female heroes, and what messages authors convey through their portrayal of violence.  I really enjoyed writing these analyses and getting to discuss them with my readers.  Hopefully I’ll be able to put these sorts of posts out on a regular basis!

In the Works: I am reading After the Snow and listening to Unwind right now.  As for the rest of April, I plan on reading A Wrinkle in Time for the Book Hoarders Anonymous read-along.  I am also being inundated with library holds, so I have The Way We Fall and Starters waiting for me.  At some point I will actually get to the pile of books I’ve bought recently.  I am trying to keep my fingers off the library’s “hold this” button.

What I Learned: I really like blogging and am not half-bad at this whole thing!  Still much more to learn, though!
